Firstly welcome to our new website, we hope you like it! Many hours and thought has gone nto its design and function and a big thank you to Mark and Tom from Yadda.co.uk for this.
Its been a very busy last few Months for both junior and senior players. Our first Adult camp of this year (back in March) included players from all over Europe and the UK creating a great mix of people and playing styles. The feedback was really positive and the next camps dates are now available on our camps page.
Some of our local stars have had notable acheivements including and incredible 3 PSA tour wins this year so far for Lucas Serme which propelled him up 13 places to world number 74. Karina Tyma moved up to England number 3 after making the final of the English championships and then representing England at the 5 Nations in France, now having just moved into the under 15’s she ranks at 26. Both of these players highlight the positive effect of great movement and free flowing squash combined with a happy and relaxed approach to the game.
The Bristol graded junior open in late May was an event full of smiles and exitement. With players aged from 6-16 years old and coming from all over Avon and gloucester, the cross section of entrants was a joy to see. Elitesquash coaches Richard King and John Welton did a fantastic job running the event and took pride in seeing so many of their pupils perform so well. The event was topped off with Guest appearances from Bristol based superstars Mohamed and Marwan el Shorbagy. The Double British and world open junior champions, now ranked 5 and 29 in the world, presented the prizes and their presence was much appreciated from parents and players. The juniors can only dream of the type of success the Brothers have already acheived but dreams must come before making the reality happen!
Guatemala’s Antonio del la Torre is now in Bristol for a month of intensive coaching with Hadrian while visiting from Franklin and Marshall university in America. The combination of intensive coaching every day and matches with the local professionals is making a huge difference and its great to see him improve so fast. To top it off he met the legend Peter Nicol while he was in Bristol filming for squashskills.
Finally, our summer camps are nearly sold out and have an even more varied and strong selection of Britain and Europe’s best juniors. If you are keen to book a place please visit our camps page for more details.
